Friends of Holbrook Animal Shelter Receives Rachael Ray Save Them All Grant to Support Lifesaving in Navajo County

Best Friends Animal Society awards $20,000 to save over 160 dogs

Holbrook, AZ. 2 February 2026 — The Friends of Holbrook Animal Shelter has been awarded a Rachael Ray Save Them All grant from Best Friends Animal Society, a leading national animal welfare organization working to save cats and dogs in America’s shelters.

This competitive grant of $20,000 will support lifesaving efforts of the animal shelters in Holbrook and Snowflake-Taylor by funding the newly established Navajo County Transport Program. This program aims to expand these shelters’ rescue network across the state and encourage other rescues to transfer in puppies and dogs from these shelters with the goal of making Holbrook and Snowflake-Taylor No-Kill Communities. This grant funding will support the transfer of over 160 dogs and puppies.

This Rachael Ray Save Them All grant means transforming and boosting our connections to rescue programs, to create more opportunities to save more animals.” said Rachel Dorsey, Friends of the Holbrook Animal Shelter spokesperson. “Every animal is worth saving, their stories cherished. We deeply appreciate the support from Best Friends and the Rachael Ray Foundation — it will help us and our community reach this lifesaving goal.”

Friends of Holbrook Animal Shelter is one of 53 shelters and rescues from across the country to be awarded Rachael Ray Save Them All and Rachael Ray No-Kill Excellence grants in 2026. The grants in total are projected to save or impact over 19,000 cats and dogs.

Friends of Holbrook Animal Shelter was selected among 320 applicants to receive a Rachael Ray Save Them All Grant because of its innovation, dedication, commitment, and readiness to save pets’ lives,” said Whitney Bollinger, Director of Strategy & Network Operations, Best Friends Animal Society. “We are so proud to provide grant funding to support Friends of Holbrook Animal Shelter’s critical lifesaving work in Navajo County!
