This sweet little gal is out February Calendar model. She was called in to Animal Control by a concerned citizen when she was spotted near the train tracks dragging her hind legs behind her. They thought she may had been hit by a car or even grazed by the train. Regardless, she was in an unsafe location. The ACO picked her up and she was taken to the vet to be looked over.
This is one of the things “Friends of the Holbrook Animal Shelter” provides: vet care for stray animals. Animals that are brought in sick or injured can get seen by a vet thanks to your donations! Sometimes we set up a special post to donate for certain severe cases.

The vet determined she had an old injury that caused her to be paralyzed in the back end. This didn’t stop our Debbie though! She was eager and excited to get around! She scooted herself everywhere until a wheelchair was donated to help her move faster, and boy did she go!!
Little Debbie was soon scooped up by one of the amazing rescues we partner with: Cooper’s Chance . They have had her to a specialist vet who said her condition was something she was born with, and she was NOT paralyzed, just a bit wobbly. With physical therapy and a lot of support from her foster family, she was able to leave her wheels behind! She’s walking everywhere! She is still in search of a home so if you are interested in this gorgeous sweet girl with a big heart and wonderful personality click the link above to visit her adoption page there.
